|
| This Pregnant Body Pearl, you may already be experiencing some hardening and contracting of your abdomen. What you're feeling are called Braxton-Hicks contractions. These early contractions usually last about 30 seconds. Some you may not feel at all, while others may become uncomfortable for you. Want to know more? Click here to read more about braxton hicks. If you have not signed up for or begun a childbirth preparation class, this is the week to look into enrolling in one. Click here to read more about childbirth classes. Like Lamaze, the Bradley Method is a technique of managing labor and birth. Click here to read more about Bradley Method. If you have a busy schedule or would like to experience a childbirth class in the privacy and comfort of your own home, you can order a childbirth class on video or DVD that will provide the same information that most classes offer. | Your Baby Your baby now weighs around 3 pounds and is about 17 inches from head to toe. An ultrasound image may show your baby yawning or even sucking its thumb, and you may also notice that your baby does not move at all during your Braxton Hicks contractions. This is because your muscles tighten and constrict his or her movement. By now your baby is probably more used to Braxton Hicks than you are. | Tips From Other Moms Register for all the baby gifts you would like to receive, and let friends and family know where they can purchase them. This will guarantee you get what you need, rather than 15 cute teddy bears. Registering is easy and in some cases can be handled completely online. Simply select your favorite store or site and enter your wish list. It's a good idea to select items in all price categories to accommodate the budgets of everyone who may wish to purchase a gift for you. |
